A beautiful, hand-carved Tom Taber and Hersey Kyle Jr. wooden pheasant in excellent condition!  An early  collaboration by these two American carvers – circa 1980s – this Taber/Hersey pheasant is signed by both artists and measures approximately 36 inches long head to tail, 20 inches tall at the head and 7 inches wide at the body.  Carved from decades-old wood with signature characteristics like worm holes, the unique staining and coloring methods allow the natural warmth of the wood to show through. The form, proportions, graceful flowing lines and lifelike finish all add to a work of beauty – a gorgeous example of American carving.
