Folk Artist David Everett has a talent for mixing merry with mayhem to create unique interpretations of Halloween staples such as skeletons, pumpkins and crows.
Obviously not courting the Halloween traditionalist – David works primarily in clay, sculpting each creation by hand. Licensed for reproduction in paper, pulp and plaster, you’ll find yourself torn between smiling and shaking your head at the exaggerated expressions, soulful eyes and whimsical details. We filled a vintage trunk with lights and tulle, arranged the tabletop pieces on, in and around the trunk and then used an oversized and somewhat-traditional skeleton head for contrast as a backdrop. The pumpkin and skeleton head ornaments look spooky-fun perched on the black wire tree, completing the story.
Oh! What a spell these creatures cast!
