True to her taste for understated beauty, the playful Birdcage Santa by Susan Brielmann features a rosy-cheek Santa dressed in burlap and chenille perched on a weathered birdcage. Gently cradling a cardinal in his hand, Santa’s hand-painted face expresses kindness and character, edged by his fluffy white beard. No telling how that beautifully decorated Christmas tree ended up inside the cardinal’s cage, but I’m guessing the Big Guy had something to do with it! Designed and assembled in the USA, the artist employs local artisans to complete the limited production of her three, 2014 original designs: Birdcage Santa, Crown Santa and Teddy Bear Santa.
